igThemer is a simple app for creating an xml template that happens to be iGoogle Theme API compatible.

Some Thins I Thought You Should Know

As a practicing nonprofessional web designer, I find it important to disclose my justifications and also the things I learned during the project. Here's a list of them::

I debated between a database schema and a flat-file design.
Flat file won out for a few reasons

Flat file made it much faster to implement
Ostensibly, parsing the XML will not be problematic (though slower) for future features
The URIs need not be shoehorned to be well-formed

The php code (which I'll release soon enough) is currently 'wet,' in that I didn't follow DRY. I intend to refactor

This is an Alpha app

It was most important to roll the app out quickly. As previously mentioned, email me at ao5357@gmail.com with any known bugs. Thanks. Here are some intended future features:

An automated (preferably AJAX) gallery, with sorting by various measures
An editorial process of some sort for weeding out the best and most popular themes
The ability to mix & match themes based on the API's "traits"
Update feeds
User management - though most likely just for "favorites" and mixing & matching
Any ideas?

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted from the "igThemer" App. Using the app, you can make requests to the hawidu.com server. The types of personal information optionally collected at these pages are:

Author Email
Author Affiliation
Author Location

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself when sending a request to create a semi-permanent flat file on our servers. Please email the webmaster with a given filename to request it to be deleted.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we do discrimate concerning any user data whatsoever. Likewise, we make no claim as to the security of the data as a function of the hawidu.com server's throughput. All data processed is at the end user's own risk.
